M’panjere Research Legal Eyes Hemp Linen Jacket

This product was made from Industrial Hemp linen fabric and its legal eyes (legalize) design was created by the world renowned art illustrator,Lemi Ghariokwu.Lemi is globally known for his works on music legend and afro beat music founder,Fela Kuti’s album artworks.

Lemi was inspired by his icon and friend,Peter Tosh who had a song called legalize it which advocated for the legalization of hemp.This resulted in Lemi influencing Fela to write a song about hemp called Nigeria Natural grass in which Lemi and his friends who were Fela’s advisors,researched different names of hemp,and Fela used them to do back n forth chants with his crowd during his perfomances of this song.Though the song was never recorded,it was popular among Fela’ fans then.

We collaborated with Lemi to tap from this history,his artistry as well as his experiences to express the potential of industrial hemp through this 1 of 1 hemp linen Jacket.The Jacket will be Augmentented to bring the artwok to life and auctioned as a digital asset to lovers of industrial hemp,history and African art!
